Rookie Detective Park Sun Woo and So Do-Cheol, veteran of the Team of the Department of Investigation of Violent Crime, chases after a serial killer shaking their world .. followed by a veteran (2015). A veteran is an action comedy that is an experienced detective, SEO Do-Cheol, against a young, arrogant successor to Chaebol, Jo Tae-Oh, which is involved in various criminal activities. The film is filled with fast action scenes, but what separates it is his humor and a smart way in which he deals with social comments about the corruption of the rich. The Hwang Jung-min portraiture of a ruthless detective is fantastic, bringing both intensity and humor to the role. Fighting and chasing scenes are energetic and hold the audience engaged. What makes the veteran a particularly comfortable tension between SEO and JO. While SEO represents justice and bite, he still embodies the entitled, untouchable elite that believes I can get away with anything. The film subtly criticizes power imbalance in society, and is still an exciting ride filled with a large combat choreography. The action and moral message are combined to make it one of the prominent Korean action films for decades.
